jason forrest / donna summer seems to be the celebrity electro-artist of the hour: featured worldwide in magazines, permanently releasing 7"es, split- and fulltime 12"es, cd-rs and cds and touring around the world, from the united states till moscow. forrest is one of the most interesting plunderphonic virtuosos, sampling, deconstructing and reconstructing for his' life, in a very energetic and powerful way. his' knowledge of musical styles such as disco and prog rock is hilarious and he perfectly uses these 70s remains for his sound explorations. but compared to former plunderphonic artists such as john oswald, jason's music makes you dance - so it has to be disco - and it definitely has to be fun !
this 7" is just one of the many 2004 d.s. releases. dive into the soundtrackish 'wooden karova', listen to what david says about his' music ("nihilistic rock..." maybe it's jason talking, not david?), realize that styx-'teen-prog' (remember styx? yes, domo origato, mr. roboto!) can be turned into breakcore without any problems, and finally craze out to the mixture of heavily distorted electric basses and four-to-the-floor r-box-beats!
